Without further ado, allow me to introduce to you the TRSB18:
Tolkien Reverse Summer Bang 2018
What is it?
A Tolkien-fandom-wide event celebrating the creativity of our fanworks creators co-run by Raiyana ( @joyfullynervouscreator ) and Narya(@naryaflame ), your friendly community mods.
No, but, Raiy, what is it specifically?
A Reverse Bang is a type of Big Bang event in which artists submit art prompts (up to 3 total, though each prompt can be more than one image/visual artwork). The art prompts are then claimed by writers who will write a piece of fiction based on the prompt chosen.
Big Bang? Wait, are you going to make me write a novel, Narya?!
No, minimum word count is set at 5000 words.
But I don’t have time!

Great! This is the event schedule:
May 1, 2018: Sign-ups open
May 15, 2018: Artist sign-up closes
Monday, May 21, 2018: Art Draft due
Friday, May 25, 00:01 CET, 2018: Art Drafts up for previewto signed up authors
Saturday, May 26, 2018: Author sign-ups close
Monday, May 28, 20:00 CET, 2018: Claims open [What time is that for me?]
Sunday, June 3, 2018: Post-Claim Check In – This is to ensure that our collaborators have got in touch with each other
July 5, 2018: Check In. We will be asking how your collaboration is progressing and whether you are on track to finish by the deadline.
July 30, 2018: Check In. We will ask whether you have discussed posting logistics with your artist (if you’re embedding art in your AO3 story, for example), whether the banner for your Community MasterPost is complete, and whether you have specific posting needs re publicizing date/time frame.
August 17, 2018: Deadline to tell us “Help, my pants are on fire and I won’t be able to complete my story!” (We understand. Life happens. Just let us know as soon as possible so we can find a pinch hitter.)
August 25, 2018: Fics due.
Monday, August 27, 2018: Posting begins in the last week of August, running in staggered schedule until all Fics have been posted/reblogged.
The scheduled times and dates are not negotiable.
