Good evening, Tolkien fans!

Firstly, we hope you’re all safe and well. These are strange days and we know that most if not all of you will be finding things tough. We need our wonderful fandom community more than ever.

If you look like you’re facing a period of time stuck mostly inside, or if you just need something to look forwards to, Raiy and Narya are pleased to announce that TRSB will soon be returning for its third year!

For those of you who haven’t been able to join in our previous adventures, TRSB stands for Tolkien Reverse Summer Bang, which involves authors writing long-ish fic (5k words minimum) in response to an artist’s prompt. The prompt should be based on one or more Tolkien canons. 2019’s FAQs are over here if you’d like to know more:

Exact schedule is TBD, but it will be similar to last time, i.e.:

Signups open mid-late April
Art previews mid-May
Claims late May
Fics due end of August
Fic reveals early September

We will in all likelihood run the suggestion spreadsheet again, giving you the opportunity to let our lovely artists know which characters and settings you might like to see, so look out for that over the coming weeks. In the meantime, take care of yourselves, take care of your family and friends, and take care of each other. Aurë entuluva.
