Hello there, I’m Anna [they/them]! I’ve been writing fanfiction since 2012, and Tolkien fic since 2015, and in the past year and a half I’ve dived deep into the Silmarillion fandom. I’m primarily a writer, but I also make graphics and I’m learning to draw! I’m currently studying English/Creative Writing, and in my free time I like to make friendship bracelets and sing, as well as do all sorts of fandom-related stuff :)

I am @arofili on tumblr and starlightwalking on AO3! I have several sideblogs on tumblr, too, including my art blog @annataryx.

This TRSB, I have contributed three pieces of art (a graphic/moodboard and two drawings) and I am writing two fics - plus however many treats I can squeeze in! I saw “poetry” suggested and immediately remembered this piece (and its sister pieces)…



The Lay of Maedhros

Written in lay lyrique, Tolkien’s favored style of poetry, for Feanorian Week 2019, this poem spans Maedhros’ life from childhood to death.


Top creative tips/words of wisdom for fellow participants: Set deadlines for yourself, and make outlines to guide your progress, but don’t beat yourself up for not sticking to them!
